Wishing I could control who could look at my blog and not go private at the same time! Those last comments on the last blog aren't the first ones I have had that were porno links, or spam. I don't want to go private because no one will check it. My sister went private for a while and she went un private because she found out many people were too lazy to sign in to check the blog. I have fallen into that lazy category before many times. What to do what to do. It's just creepy not knowing who is looking at our pictures, and what they are doing since there isn't really a way for us to stop people from saving them to their computer. Michael's family is using myfamily.com which so far I have liked because discussions can be made (sort of like facebook) anyone you invite can comment, and it is private. It also have places for files (like recipe's, histories, ) Pictures, video's, and some other nifty things. The only draw back, it costs money. 10.00 for the first year and about 28 for a year subscription after that. I think it would almost be worth it though not having to worry about creeps..... Anyay, just an idea!
Family if you read this, what do you think about pitching in and getting privacy?
Others... thanks for listening to my blurb, and if you are one of those creeps that is ruining my blogging experience, shame on you!

Ours isn't private right now, but I've set it so that it isn't searchable on search engines, and I think that helps. One of my friends had posted a post of her little girls called "bath time" and had like thousands of hits on the picture. sick. I think making it unsearchable definitely helps, and I've never had any problems with porno/spam comments. You can also keep track of the referring sites/visitors by checking "stats" on blogger dashboard. I've had this dilemma many times too...
I hate when a blog goes private, as I'm one of those people who never bothers to log into a private blog. Stacy's right, though, taking yourself out of Google's index helps. I suggest looking into getting a Wordpress blog, too, as I think they have better tools than Blogspot to block out spam comments. In any case, though, I would never post anything too personal.
You can set up a preblog that tell people when you update your blog even though it's private. My two sister in laws did that. You can see updates, but still have to sign in. I always check theirs because I know when an update is there. I've been considering it too. I haven't written anything on my blog for so long, because it seems to personal for the whole world. Look into it. That way us friends can still see what you guys are up to, and you don't have to spend any money.
Oh the dilemmas of blogging. Good luck deciding!
It was very interesting for me to read that post. Thanx for it. I like such topics and anything connected to them. I definitely want to read more soon.
