It was China's Labor Day (May Day) Weekend. It was a three day weekend, so we decided to travel. One of our friends invited us to go to WuYi with her and an old classmate. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a relaxing, country feeling vacation! It was wonderful! All the pictures are once again out of order, mostly backwards!

The little Boy is our new Nephew. His name is Tony. We met him on the three hour train ride home. He was very outgoing, new some English, kept everyone around us entertained, and talked Michael's ear off the whole trip. It made the trip go by faster, at least for me since I wasn't the one being talked too. Oh and he is our Nephew because he called us his Aunt and Uncle.
By WuYi is an old village, with a protected forest. We visited there our last day in WuYi and loved it! We miss being in the country and not hearing car horns all the time. This city was really old, and it was unbelievable that people still live in these houses!

Michael pointing to the rusty satellite! It just didn't seem to fit in!

Tourists playing in the water, locals washing and drying their clothes.

Playing in the water. Michael has a thing with making me do different poses. I am not very creative and can guarantee I will never be on America's Next Top Model! I just don't have it! But it was a very pretty area!

This is the spot I was standing in the picture before! Very cool Bridge!

One Dinner, we got to eat rice in a Bamboo. None of us had ever tried it, so it was a great experience for all! It was really good too! Jane is our friend (in the white) and her friend is Happy! (that's her name)

Lunch anyone? It was actually really good fresh chicken, you just had to get past some feet and head first! I also say fresh because while we were eating, there were hens running around our table!

Michael and I have decided China has a lot of steps. Everywhere you go there are steps! We were climbing to the Natural Oxygen Bar. We never made it because we took a wrong path. O'well
The whole reason we went to WuYi was to visit Qing Shui Wan, which is a Natural Hot Spring. The place our friend found was awesome. Sadly we couldn't take photo's. We did get a few in before we were told to put the camera's away!

The Hot Springs had an indoor area and an outdoor area. The indoor was fun. It had a lot of different techniques to get massaged by water, like fountains or jets. The water was a great temperature too! Like our pink robes?

Inside Area!

Outside area! They had a lazy pool, food hot tubs, mud baths, fish feeding areas, waterslides, a wave pool, and massage area's. The General fee to get in covered just the main swimming area's but you had to pay to use the other things. It was very cheap, so we did a lot of the things.

Michael inside waiting for us to get out of the locker room!

This was the fish feeding pool. It does not mean you feed the fish handfuls of food. It means you get into the pool and the fish nibble off the dead skin on your toes. It tickled a lot, but was so much fun! We had them nibbling our fingers too! Worth the experience and I would do it again, and again and again!

Isn't this a fun car? It was our mode of transportation to the hotel! At first we just laughed and joked about how we would make it tip over, then realized it would be our taxi since there weren't any four wheeled ones coming by.

Way fun! I want to come to China just for this part! What kind of fish nibbled on your toes? That is cool. :) Love you!
My kids LOVE reading your blog with me. (I'm hoping they get a little culture from it :) )
They thought the chicken feet/heads were totally disgusting and they laughed pretty hard about the fish nibbling. Keep posting. They need the entertainment! :) Love ya!
Sounds like a lot of fun. I never did anything like this when I was there.
Sounds awesome.
Gretel says, "I want to eat some of that delicious soup with the chicken claw and rooster head! It looks soooo delicious. I will dream about it at dinnertime when I have to eat baked potatoes."

Gretel is turning into quite a good reader! She read your captions herself and said, "Ewwwww!" When she saw the soup. She loved seeing the pool where fish nibble on toesies, and thought the little blue car was cute!
