My B-I-L Brent asked me today what I missed about the Great US of A. There are many things that I love about China, but of course I miss the USA, and it is amazing how many things we took for granted! Here is a quick list of things I miss....for you Brent! ;-)
1. Family... of course, and I think it would be harder if I couldn't skype, blog-stalk, or e-mail them. I do miss sending random txt's to them or pictures and still find myself getting ready to get my phone out to send a silly pic to them.
2. A Dryer... we are lucky to have a washer, but I really miss having warm the smell and feel of the fabric softener, I bought some, but it just doesn't work as I would like! oh and I miss being able to put my clothes or towel in it just to warm them up on cold mornings!
3. A Decent Shower.... We have a pretty good shower, but it is always changing temperature, there isn't a lot of water pressure, and no bath tub!
4. My things.... That are in a storage unit somewhere! Soft Bed, hideously pink couches, DVD's, Scrapbooking stuff, and much much more!
5. Teaching .... I know I am teaching here, but it is completely different here. They like to have the kids sit, listen and watch where I am a Dig in and get dirty type of teacher. I miss it!
6. The food... we have been lucky to find many things from the USA, or lucky to have people send us some, but there are so many other things we miss. We like the variety of different foods not just Chinese all the time ;-) oh and an Oven will be nice again for some homemade Oreo's (or other cookies)
There is probably more, but I just can't think of it right now! Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed living in China, there are just simple things that I miss! There will be things I miss about China and here is that list!
1. The friendly people....and there are plenty. People that are close to us are really nice and polite. They are always trying to help us if possible. People we don't know, will still usually smile or even offer a "Hallo".Sometimes though it can get annoying, especially when they do it just to get a reaction. the "hallo" is usually followed by a laugh. Then it is annoying! But we do get fun experiences with nice people. Yesterday we went out to eat. We sat by a Mom and her 10 year old daughter and they were excited to sit by foreigners. They spoke very little English, but were sincerely nice. The girl gave me two fries, I have her two pieces of candy! ;-)
2. The food..... There are many different types of delicious food here and I know I will miss them a lot when we go back to the states, like my Honey Sesame Seed candy, Coconut Milk covered almonds, stir fried noodles from the street, fresh fruit every day,
3. Teaching..... I like my schedule, 2 hours teaching, 4 hour lunch break, 2 more hours teaching. Not bad! and the kids really are nice!
4. The Price of things...... Given we are only making 1,000 US dollars a month, but here we are making quite a bit, a little more than 4 x's the regular teaching salary here, so we can live like a queen and king here! Tonight we stayed in a premier suite in a 4 1/2 star hotel. It was only 70 USD. We ate a really good Meal for 4 USD today. The list goes on. I will miss it! Oh and don't worry parent's, we aren't blowing our money, we are living on just part of one of our salary's, and saving the other!
That's that, oh and I got to sit on a Camel today.... pictures later! ;-)

Good list. Ned wants to move to Thailand and teach English so we can see what it feels like to be rich. ;D So, my parents are moving to Price. Don't your parents live around there somewhere. Crazy huh?!
