It Begins.....

February is a very important month this year, for many reasons!

1. It's Chinese New year, and since we are in China, it should be pretty awesome!

2. It's Spring Festival in China.

3. With #1 and #2 happening, it means we get the WHOLE month off! (just remember we haven't had thanksgiving break, christmas break, MLK Day, and labor day. We also won't get Presidents day, spring break, memorial day, and what ever other breaks USA has) So we deserve this!

4. There are a lot of important birthdays. (Mikes, both of our fathers, and a president or two!)

5. Did I mention we get the whole month off?

6. We are going to climb the great wall, see the forbidden city, and other sites of Beijing.

7. We will explore Shaoxing more, especially since all of the area around us is basically a ghost town, and we'll have to ride the bus to get any food. It will also be nice to go where it isn't crowded with students!

8. I really need the break! I wrote a letter to the kindergarten teachers and children here. It was one of those letters you just cussed them out and planned on never giving to them. I was actually going to post it on my other blog, but the publish button didn't want to work!

I'll stop getting carried away with the list. But we are excited! We also found a farmers market type market, which I plan on taking pictures of next time we go. We actually found cilantro, and peas in the pod and other random fruits and veggies we have been craving, but not able to find! It's also in a more relaxed atmosphere than the big busy, markets we have gone too, plus a lot cheaper!

Because of the Cilantro find, and a friend of ours heading back to the states, we enjoyed a mexican food night last night. Our friend had tortilla's, salsa, and meat he had to use. We had fajita seasoning, cilantro, and other fixins. The two things we were missing were the Beans and Cheese. I have seen the beans somewhere so I can get them for next time but the cheese.....lets just say when we get back in the states, I am going to eat a lot of cheese!
