Hello Everyone,
Today starts a Chinese National Holiday, Celebrating 60 years of the Peoples republic. We Get eight days off! Hooray! The funny thing is, they encourage the foreigners not to travel because it is so busy with all the natives going home to visit. They say the same thing about all of the breaks we will have. We have decided to just stay around Shaoxing this time, and be brave and fight the crowds next time! There is a lot to see here, plus it will be nice to take our time and find where everything is!
We were "invited" to participate in a kick-off ceremony, and freshmen orientation for the school. (I put invited in quotes because we were really expected to be there, but it was in form of an invitation) Anyway, it was basically a talent show. All of the foreign teachers went up on stage, some gave speeches, and then we sang are you sleeping in English, French, Japanese, and Chinese. We were a hit, haha. The other performences were awesome! They had a lot of different styles of dance and the costumes were amazing! The two best parts though, were when they opened the ceremony with the Star Wars Theme....and three girls sang Wannabe by the Spice Girls. Classic ;-)
Last of all, We were invited to dinner with the new kindergarten teachers, and I got to eat Frog. It tastes like chicken. (doesn't everything?) Still not my favorite thing though.

Sounds like quite the adventure! How long are you guys staying in China. I can't believe you ate frog. Did you throw in some frozen peas to make it taste a little better ;)? Happy anniversary by the way. Can you believe we married our spouses SIX YEARS AGO!!! crazy!
Frog?! Yuk!
How can you not like something that tastes like chicken? Or does it really?
It actually tasted slightly like chicken. Maybe it would have more, if I didn't know it was frog at the time I was eating it. It's all in the mentality of things!
